“Crimine a Due” (“La casa sulla fungaia” / “A Game of Crime”) is a 1964 movie directed by Roy Freemont (Romano Ferrara).
The original soundtrack – composed by Maestro Berto Pisano and performed Nini Rosso e il suo Complesso – unreleased for 56 years, finally sees light in digital format and soon on vinyl.

Nini Rosso has been one of the first Italian musicians devoting himself to jazz. During World War II he had joined the Resistance movement, took refuge on the mountains with his trumpet and there he met “the Americans” who were bringing the new overseas rhythm by Glenn Miller and Miles Davis in V-Disc format.
Those were the golden years of the Italian film industry, the age of the great film music composers, and on the set of “L’Amore difficile” (“Of Wayward Love”) in 1962 he met Maestro Piero Umiliani and for him recorded “Vicolo dell’Amore, 43”.
Soon after, fame arrived almost by chance, in 1964, with “Il Silenzio” (in cooperation with Willy Brezza), a personal reworking in a light pop key of Taps, the music that marks the nights of great commemorations, special occasions and farewells in the military.

The track sold about 10 million copies and the trumpeter became part of the music history.
Too great a success that perhaps overshadowed a little his glorious past in the ranks of the great Italian jazz.
The soundtrack you’re listening to, adds a a new piece to the time that magically connected cinema and music.
Nocturnal atmospheres, syncopated tensions, between blind dates and heart-pounding rhythms in pure Crime jazz … but Italian style!
