Rufus Penta was born in West Berlin and grew up with the local Hip Hop and Graffiti scene.
He moved onto Drum’n’ Bass in the late ’90s; at the time he was DJing in Berlin clubs like WMF and Roter Salon.
During a visit in New York he played at Full Release.
Since 2010 he produces electronic music with Max Hanibal in a joint project named Ursel. Under this monicker they released on Kutmusic the album “Nordkreuz” (2012).
His solo album Sneakertype (Kutmusic, 2014) is influenced by the Berliner minimal and house scene, but also from breakbeats, his first love.
